STUDENTS FAINTED IN EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY

Prof. Chigozie Oghu, the vice chancellor of Eboyi State University on Monday, February 15, 2021 said the students who fainted during botched General Studies Test (GSTs) in the institution on February 10th, were revived, treated and discharged.



The Vice Chancellor further clarified that no death was recorded during the unfortunate incident.

Prof. Chigozie Ogbu admitted that some students did fainted and it was due to over crowding at the center for the test.



He said, casualties were rushed immediately to the nearby hospital for treatments and were later discharged.


He narrated that what happened on that day was that the school had some hitches which led to the day in the commencement of the examination.


It was scheduled to hold in batches for the students who were for the examination. The first batch that was fixed for 8am could not start due to the delay in fixing some of the faulty computers.


In this regard, the hall became over crowded with time making some students to faint while struggling to go inside.

They were rushed to the hospital for treatments and thank God nothing happened to them. ''All our students are alive ''.


According to the VC, the test have been cancelled and postponed and a new date will be fixed in no time.
