N16.6 BILLION NAIRA DONATION TO RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY

The executive Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Ezenwo Nyiesom Wike on February 10th, 2021 announced the donation of a whopping some of N16.6 billion naira for the upgrade and expansion of facilities in Rivers State University, this includes the kick start of the University's three new campuses located at Ahoada, Emohua and Etche Local Government Areas in Rivers State.
Paulinus Nsirim, the Rivers State commissioner for information and communication made it known that N9 billion out of the above amount will be take off grant for the new campuses. Each of the three new campuses has N3 billion naira to take care of faculty buildings, hostels, offices, libraries, auditorium, lecture halls and other relevant facilities that will make the campuses function efficiently.
He said, the state government through prudent, efficient and transparent management of resources would continue to upgrade and expand educational infrastructures and services across all levels of education system in the State.
